Jabuka sorte Ajdared

Idared apply variety is one of the most common variety in our region. It is characterized by large fruits with yellow‐green skin, moderately or completely covered with redness. It is a winter variety and is most commonly picked during the second half of September in our region. The flesh is juicy, white, with gentle texture and sour‐sweet taste. These apples are highly regarded among the fruit growers for its high yield and ability to withstand long storage periods.

 

It is recommended for eating fresh, but may also be used for preparation of fruit salads, cooking and food preparation.

 

Idared first appeared as a new variety in 1942 in American State of Idaho, as a cross between two apple varieties Jonathan and Wagener.

 

Basic characteristics:

 

Fruit characteristics: Large (180‐250g), round, yellow‐green color or completely covered with red color.

 

Ripening time: Second half of September.

 

Storage time: From September to May.
